Connecting Worlds is an innovative program designed to create transformative, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for First Nations peoples living with disability and disadvantaged youth from remote communities in the Top End of the Northern Territory.

Connecting Worlds

The Connecting Worlds program is built on a foundation of tailored care plans, thoughtfully designed to prioritize the safety, abilities, and interests of each participant. In collaboration with the participant, their care team, and key external stakeholders - such as behavioural specialists and occupational therapists - a personalised plan is created to ensure the activities and experiences offered align with the participant's strengths, interests, and goals.
This holistic approach allows for a diverse range of activities, carefully selected to provide both excitement and personal growth. Suggestions may include horse riding, surfing, visiting iconic tourist destinations such as theme parks, zoos, and cultural landmarks. Each activity is chosen not only for its ability to engage and inspire but also for its alignment with the participant's individual abilities, fostering a sense of accomplishment and joy.
By focusing on each participant's unique strengths and aspirations, the program offers a safe, enriching, and highly rewarding experience, ensuring every moment spent in the Connecting Worlds journey is both meaningful and empowering.
