Chief Operating Officer
Country Connect Foundation delivers disability, youth and homelessness services across multiple remote regions in the Northern Territory, including East Arnhem and the Tiwi Islands.
We operate across multiple communities, programs, properties and workforce streams simultaneously - often in environments where logistics, safety, and service delivery are complex.
This role is responsible for coordinating and leading that entire operational footprint.
If your experience is limited to managing a single house, SIL site, or small team - this role will be significantly beyond that scope.
About the role
As COO, you will lead operations across a geographically dispersed, multi-program service system, ensuring services remain safe, stable and responsive at scale.
You will work alongside the CEO to ensure strategy translates into consistent delivery across communities, with a strong focus on:
Supporting frontline teams across multiple locations, not just one site
Managing high volumes of operational activity simultaneously
Coordinating workforce movement across regions (including FIFO/DIDO)
Overseeing property, fleet, and logistics across a dispersed footprint
Maintaining service quality and safety in complex, high-risk environments
What you’ll be doing
Leading operations across multiple communities and service lines at the same time
Providing escalation support across numerous concurrent incidents and client situations
Overseeing dozens of staff movements, travel arrangements, and rostering logistics weekly
Managing a portfolio of:
Staff housing
Participant accommodation
Program facilities
Vehicles and transport assets
Ensuring consistency in service delivery across very different community contexts
Driving operational systems that allow visibility and control across scale
Supporting teams to manage complex behaviours and safety risks across regions
What we’re looking for
This role requires someone who has operated at scale and complexity, not just at a site level.
We are looking for:
Senior operational leadership experience across multiple sites, programs, or regions
Proven ability to manage high volume, fast-moving operational environments
Experience coordinating large, dispersed teams and logistics-heavy service delivery
Strong capability in risk, safety, and incident management across multiple locations
Confidence making decisions across competing priorities in real time
Highly regarded:
Experience in remote Australia
Experience working with Aboriginal communities
Background in disability, community services, or similar complex service systems
Why join Country Connect
Lead operations across a unique and geographically diverse service footprint
A role with real scale, complexity, and impact - not confined to a single site
Work that directly influences community outcomes across multiple regions
Opportunity to build systems that support growth and operational maturity
Salary packaging available through not-for-profit status
Important to know
This is a whole-of-organisation operational role, not a site-based position
Regular travel across remote communities is required
The role involves managing multiple priorities, locations and teams simultaneously
You will be expected to step into complex operational situations when required
